What’s your footprint?

The result might surprise you…

Carbon offset methods employed by CabonFarms not the subject of integrity concerns.

A highly qualified whistleblower has publicly raised concerns about the integrity of some carbon offset project methods. The methods raised in the media are Human Induced Regeneration and Avoided Deforestation. CarbonFarms does not use these methods.

A quote attributed to the whistleblower is:

"I'm a big believer in these schemes and the ability to use offsets to help cut emissions and to help lower the cost of doing so,"

CarbonFarms grows trees on land which has no forest currently, in areas capable of sustaining forests and not in the arid zone.

Pilot project approved by the Clean Energy Regulator!

The CER has approved all aspects of this environmental planting project which will restore forest to a cleared farm.

Planting and carbon drawdown will start in winter/spring 2022. Hoping to have a field day for anyone who wants to plant some trees.

Proven health benefits

Getting into nature for 2 hours per week has massive mental and physical health benefits.

We need to deepen the forms of interaction with nature and make it more immersive.

This site is manna gum, messmate stringybark and blackwood country. The bush and creek areas are largely wooded, but the paddocks are bare. Linking up the remnant vegetation will provide corridors for wildlife. The granite rocky outcrops will provide niches for various flora and fauna. Government data suggests this area was originally ‘damp sands herb-rich woodland’, which is listed as an endangered EVC. It's approximately 90 minutes from Melbourne.

This site is red stringy bark and grey box country. The bush area appears never to have been cleared but the rest has been grazed hard for many decades. The lack of fertilizer history means the site should retain a decent seed bank of native grasses, herbs and shrubs. Government mapping indicates it is a mixture of Grassy Woodland and Box Ironbark ecological vegetation classes (EVCs). It's under 90 minutes from Melbourne.

Don’t just take our word for it…

Take it from Sir David Attenborough. "We must also draw down the carbon that's already overheating the planet. And there's one very effective way to do this: plant more trees." Watch the full film and note this quote at 1:02:42.
